My own HP Mini…

I figured I might as well show what I’ve got going on… 🙂

I have an HP Mini 110-1033CL that I ordered straight from HP.com, customized. I ordered it straight from the factory with the following:

Basically, I upgraded to the N280 Atom 1.66GHz processor, upgraded to the Hi-Def 10.1″ display, and added in the Broadcom HD Video Accelerator card. To cut down on cost, I downgraded to the 3-cell battery.

After a few days of playing with it, I was getting real bored of the Windows XP Home OS, so I had planned to install OS X along with Windows 7 and have a powerful netbook capable of both platforms. With that plan in mind, I researched on many hackintosh/windows forums and found that its best to have 2GB of RAM and a flash drive to install it all. With that in mind, I went to Newegg.com and bought a stick of Crucial 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667 RAM for increased Mac compatability, and an 8GB Sandisk Cruzer flash drive (I love the Cruzers, they’re bad ass.) I also am using a 4GB SDHC card and dedicated it for ReadyBoost in Windows 7, so everything runs very snappy.

Once all that finally made its way here and the man in brown delivered it, I began the installations. The OS X install went without a hitch thanks to the guide here (what a great plug) and then installed a copy of the Windows 7 RTM. Then followed the guide for dual booting. Went great. I also installed NTFS-3G on the Mac partition to allow me to read/write files on the Windows partition. So that’s where I’m at, and everything runs GREAT! I’ve included a few screenshots below…
